Individualism

Individualism is a philosophical perspective of human nature which recognizes that each individual is a volitional being, who is uniquely responsible for his own life, and that there is no collective consciousness, collective rights, or collective ethics. Individualism is the opposite of collectivism.

To be an individualist does not being a loner or non-conformist. Rather, it means recognizing that people are responsible for their own values and actions (being just) and being an independent thinker.
